Volunteer facilitator of Bristol Home Birth Group, Director of Born, I know a fair bit about the qualities of different types of Birthing pool, as I used to supply a range of them, also waterbirth in general. I am very happy to chat for hours about the benefits of water before, after and during labour and also the ins and outs(!) of homebirth, as both my children were born at home.
